Prepare cash: power outages and ATM disruptions

In Ukraine, anxiety is rising again: experts urge citizens to ensure cash availability urgently. The main reason is likely long-term power outages resulting from the shelling of energy facilities.

The authorities recommend maintaining a cash reserve of 7-14 days. Why is this important?

In large-scale outages, electronic systems can fail: ATMs will stop dispensing money, card terminals will become unavailable, and long lines and withdrawal restrictions can lead to financial difficulties.

Even if some electronic systems retain functionality, cash will remain the most convenient payment method for purchasing food, medicine, water, and fuel. Small shops, markets, and pharmacies that remain open usually only accept cash.

Experts advise having banknotes of different denominations. A small amount of cash is significant for regular purchases and will help you avoid trouble with returns. It will also enable more accurate budget planning during crises.

By ensuring cash availability now, Ukrainians will be able to maintain their financial independence even during power outages and interruptions to electronic payment services.

Don’t wait for the “network to go down” — take care of your financial reserves today.

We will remind you that the problem “Where does the money from the class fund disappear to?” was previously discussed. And other topical concerns among parents.
