Як прокидатися взимку та займатися спортом вранці, коли тіло хоче ще спати, а потрібно стати стрункішим до Нового року

How to wake up in winter and do sports in the morning, when the body still wants to sleep, but you need to get slimmer before the New Year

The winter months and late fall are not a time for anxiety, but a time when even morning exercise can feel like a real accomplishment. The body wakes up more slowly, and the darkness outside the window calls to stay under a warm blanket.

However, activity in the cold season is possible and even brings joy – you need to learn to take into account your biorhythms, and not contradict them.

1. Listen to your biorhythms instead of an alarm clock

Do not torture yourself with early rises if your body is still asleep. Move training to a time when you feel a rush of energy – it can be lunch or evening. The most important thing is to focus on your feelings, because the correct mode of cheerfulness is more critical than the “shoulds” that you impose on yourself.

2. Plan wisely

Make your training plan based on work, sleep, and gym visits. Short and regular training sessions are much more effective than occasional marathons. Don’t sacrifice sleep for sports — especially in winter, when it’s essential for recovery.

3. Choose the load wisely

For dark winter days, the following are best suited:

moderate strength training;
yoga and pilates for relaxation;
functional training;
light to moderate cardio.
You should not engage in intense HIIT exercises in the evening – they can increase adrenaline and make it difficult to fall asleep.

4. Sleep is your most important ally

A whole night’s rest of 7–9 hours can solve almost all problems associated with winter fatigue. Try to go to bed and get up at about the same time, even on weekends, to maintain a biological rhythm.

5. Proper nutrition

For the training to take place comfortably, follow these recommendations:

the main meal — 1.5-2 hours before classes;
a light protein-cell snack after training (cheese with berries, omelet, yogurt);
dinner – 2-3 hours before bedtime.
6. Restriction of stimulants after 16:00

Dinner with coffee, energy drinks, and pre-workout complexes prevents you from getting a good night’s sleep. Less sleep means less energy in the morning.

7. Help the body relax

A warm shower, bath, sauna, or gentle stretching before bed will help relieve muscle tension and calm the nervous system. Thanks to this, sleep will be more meaningful, and the morning will be more energetic.

8. Reduce the use of gadgets

Blue light reduces melatonin production. It is better to put the phone aside and replace it with a book, music, meditation, or a walk 1-2 hours before bedtime.

9. Use light

In winter, there may be a lack of natural light. Light alarms and “smart” lamps that simulate dawn will help you wake up gently and stay cheerful, especially for those who are “owls.

10. Maintain stability

The main secret of winter fitness is regularity. Even if it is difficult to get up early at first, in a few weeks the body will get used to it, and training will become a natural part of everyday life.

Winter fitness studios are open until late in the evening so that everyone can choose a convenient time for their activity without unnecessary stress. The most important thing is to listen to your body, plan wisely, and not fight nature.
