Кеті Перрі, 41-річна співачка, веде судову справу з 80-річним ветераном з інвалідністю

Katy Perry, 41-year-old singer, is suing an 80-year-old disabled veteran

Popular singer Katy Perry is suing a disabled veteran for $5 million over a property dispute. At the moment, neither side has disclosed the details of this case.

According to the New York Post, the lawsuit concerns real estate rights. It is known that the veteran, 80-year-old Carl Westcott, owns a luxurious eight-room mansion in Montecito, California, worth $15 million, which Katy Perry purchased more than 5 years ago.

Problems arose when the veteran abruptly backed out of the deal on the day of the sale, saying he was unable to make informed decisions due to medication. The court that heard the case ruled in favor of the singer because Westcott could not provide sufficient evidence of her disability. In addition, Perry filed an additional lawsuit seeking more than $5 million in damages.

The veteran is currently in the hospital receiving treatment for a neurodegenerative disease. Cases involving older people or persons with disabilities cause considerable public interest and discussion of the ethical aspects of such conflicts.
