Pensioners’ payments will be doubled
The Government of Ukraine has approved new social standards for 2025, which include a significant increase in minimum pensions for certain groups of citizens. A specialized resource published the relevant information.
Even though the basic pension amount remains close to 3 thousand hryvnias, increased payments will be introduced for some categories; they will be able to receive up to 6 thousand hryvnias per month.
The following categories of persons have the right to receive a doubled minimum pension:
– combatants;
– war veterans;
– liquidators of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster;
– people with disabilities of the first group;
– persons deserving special benefits from the state.
To receive additional payments, you must contact the Pension Fund and provide documents confirming your relevant status.
These increases are part of a comprehensive program of state support for the most vulnerable segments of the population. For the remaining pensioners, the pension calculation procedure remains unchanged and depends on length of service and earnings.
The average pension in Ukraine at the end of 2025 is projected to be 6.4 thousand hryvnias, but about a third of pensioners receive less than 3.3 thousand hryvnias per month.
