Gas tariffs will change for certain Ukrainians: what will the new prices be?
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to reduce the cost of gas for electricity producers using gas turbine and gas piston units in front-line territories. Now the price will be 19 thousand hryvnias per thousand cubic meters, down from 21 thousand. Information about this was published on the Ministry of Energy’s official website.
It is also reported that gas will be supplied at the same price to electricity producers at thermal power plants and thermal power plants in front-line communities. This decision will remain in effect until December 1, 2026.
“To support and activate the operation of generation, a preferential price for natural gas of 19,000 hryvnias per 1,000 cubic meters (including VAT) will be applied. This price will become relevant from the moment of concluding a new contract and will last until December 1, 2026,” said Acting Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov.
In addition, amendments were made to the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution “On Amendments to the Regulation on Imposing Special Obligations on Natural Gas Market Entities, which also regulates the sale of gas to the population at a fixed price.
It is also worth emphasizing that changes in gas prices for producers will not affect electricity tariffs for the population, as they are already fixed by government decision. This means that consumers will not receive inflated bills for gas services.
