Miley Cyrus releases video for her song from ‘Avatar: Fire and Ashes’
Miley Cyrus released the official music video for her track “Dream As One” on Tuesday, nearly a month after the song’s release.
The 33-year-old star, who publicly identifies as pansexual, co-wrote the song with Andrew Wyatt and Mark Ronson. The music appears on the soundtrack for the film “Avatar: Fire and Ashes.”
The video begins with Cyrus observing a forest spirit, a seed from the Tree of Souls, which appears in the new installment of James Cameron’s epic.
In the video, Miley wears a strapless, sequined dress against a backdrop of smoke and ash. The video was directed by Glen Luchford, who also worked on the cover of her album Something Beautiful and the Gucci Flora ad campaign.
“Even through the flames / Even through the ashes in the sky,” the song sings against the backdrop of sparks surrounding it.
The lines continue:
“When we dream, we dream as one / Every breath I take is a song that holds love / I know that when we dream, we dream as one.”
The same day, the singer shared her impressions, saying that Dream As One for her became “a symbol of transformation, strength and entering a new era for everyone who has ever been reborn from their own ashes.”
In addition, on Monday, the song was nominated for a Golden Globe in the category “Best Original Song.” The awards ceremony will take place on January 11 on CBS/Paramount+.
Cyrus’s composition will compete with songs from the films Wicked: For Good, KPop Demon Hunters, Sinners, and Train Dreams.
“It’s been one holiday after another lately,” the singer added, noting that participating in the Avatar universe has become a dream come true for her.
Miley also confirmed her engagement to musician Max Morando, who proposed to her during a trip to Japan, giving her a custom-made Jacquie Aiche diamond ring worth $150,000.
In an interview for Good Morning America, a reporter asked if she and Max dream “as one.” To which Miley replied: “I would say yes!”
“Obviously, in these four years with Max, I’ve grown a lot,” the singer concluded.
“I want to dream the biggest dream I can, and have someone by my side who will always support me and say, ‘You can do it!'”
