Minimum payments: which pensioners will receive UAH 14,000
In Ukraine, specific categories of citizens can receive guaranteed increased pension payments. In 2025, the monthly amount for two such groups may reach approximately UAH 14,000.
According to information from the Pension Fund, a guaranteed minimum of UAH 13.98 thousand is provided for persons with disabilities who participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.
These people can claim an increased pension if a causal relationship between the disability and the accident is proven. Payments are regulated by Law 1584-IX, which provides for an increase in pensions for specific categories of victims.
Persons with disabilities of the second group, who arose due to radiation exposure or other diseases associated with the Chernobyl NPP, are provided with an increased pension. Special expert commissions establish disability and causal relationships. In addition, participants in the Chernobyl liquidation are entitled to 14 working days of paid leave per year.
Increased payments are also provided for military personnel with disabilities of the second group, which may amount to almost UAH 14,000 in 2025. These payments are assigned if the disability occurred during service or within three months after discharge, as well as in cases of diseases related to official duties.
The size of the military pension is 80% of the cash benefit for military personnel who received a disability during combat operations, and 60% of the cash benefit if the disability occurred during service but not during combat. The law guarantees that the minimum pension for persons with disabilities of the second group cannot be lower than the established level, regardless of the circumstances of the disease or injury.
It was previously reported that indexation for pensioners is being prepared, but some unpleasant nuances may arise. There is also information that eight categories of pensioners may lose their benefits, and that some of them will receive 25% less.
