Expert asked whether Ukraine can withstand 2,000 “Shaheeds” every day

Launching a large number of Shahed drones, for example, 2,000 at night, is an entirely feasible scenario that Russia could try to implement in the near future. However, according to Maria Berlinskaya, a volunteer and founder of the Victory Drones initiative, this does not mean that Ukraine is defenseless.

In an interview, Berlinskaya emphasizes that although the daily launch of such a large number of drones seems unlikely given the limited resources of the Russian military-industrial complex, the enemy could accumulate drones for simultaneous attacks alongside missile strikes. She noted that even reaching 2,000 or 2,500 drones is quite possible if they are launched with missiles.

Currently, Russia is producing drones on its own. Still, it receives significant support from Iran, which supplies ready-made drones, and China, which provides the necessary components and technical assistance. This includes providing the required materials and specialists to help set up production.

However, Ukraine has its own solutions to combat this threat. Domestic developers have already created effective systems for intercepting “Shaheeds, which are actively used on the front. In addition, every Ukrainian can help protect their country’s airspace. The “Victory Drones” initiative offers training courses for representatives of territorial defense and national resistance, as well as interested citizens. Participants receive theoretical knowledge, and then undergo a week-long practical training, during which they learn to shoot down enemy drones, including not only “Shaheeds”, but also reconnaissance drones that pose a threat to the civilian population.

Berlinska emphasized that residents will be grateful for the protection of their safety when they learn how many drones were destroyed.
