NABU in the State Tax Service: the investigation covers the events of 2024–2025
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine is conducting searches at the State Tax Service’s central office and at several of its regional offices. It is known that investigative actions are underway in the Khmelnytskyi and Mykolaiv regions.
The State Tax Service confirmed that on December 10, NABU representatives conducted searches among their employees in the indicated regions and in the main office. The reasons for the searches have not been disclosed at this time. Still, the investigative actions may be related to a large-scale corruption investigation in the energy sector. This criminal proceeding concerns events in 2024, completed in early 2025, and arises from the activities of risky enterprises.
It is noted that the pre-trial investigation and the details of this case are the competence of law enforcement agencies, and the State Tax Service employees have declared their readiness to cooperate with anti-corruption agencies.
Additionally, on December 5, NABU announced the exposure of a criminal group led by Anna Skorokhod. A photo was published showing money seized after searches, but it was not specified exactly where it happened. The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed receipt of the first part of the bribe, for $125,000, through an intermediary in the center of Kyiv, and also found evidence of criminal activity during searches at the workplaces and residences of the People’s Deputy and her accomplices.
