Scandal in Kyiv house: connected to Klitschko’s associate

A scandal is unfolding in Kyiv around a private house, where Kyiv City Council deputy Andriy Strannikov, a close associate of Mayor Vitali Klitschko, appears. He is accused of unauthorized seizure of housing.

Kyiv resident Halyna Babenko reported that since 2018, Strannikov and his partner have been living in her house on Kobzarska Street. According to her, although there was a lease agreement, its term has long expired, and the residents refuse to leave. This became known thanks to information sources.

The owner adds that she has not had access to her property for a long time, and that any attempts to resolve the situation are met with pressure and threats.

“I was openly threatened, insulted, and made to understand that I would not achieve anything,” she says.

According to Halyna, the police were called repeatedly, but no real action was taken. All appeals ended with formal checks, with no results.

The woman is also outraged that, despite the deputy’s possession of expensive property, cars, and land plots, he does not pay utilities for the house he lives in without legal grounds.

Galyna Babenko addresses the city authorities with the question of who and why allows the deputy to use someone else’s property with impunity and to put pressure on law enforcement officers.

She expresses concern about the court proceedings, as she does not believe an objective resolution is possible given her opponent’s political influence.

The circumstances are further complicated by the fact that her son has a disability and close relatives are serving at the front, while the house, burdened with loans, cannot be used or sold.

Strannikov continues to live in someone else’s house without any intention of resolving the conflict, which has caused indignation among Kyiv residents. Many people are wondering whether this situation has gone too far and where the city authorities’ limits of responsibility lie.

As part of verifying the information that has emerged, official requests are being prepared to the NACP and the Kyiv City State Administration.
