Didenko predicted frosts on Christmas Eve and Christmas
On Christmas Eve and Christmas, a cold snap is expected, with temperatures dropping to -9 °C, possibly to -12 °C at night.
Forecasters say that despite the frost, weather conditions will be comfortable, with sunny clearings expected. Light snow is forecast in the west, north, and some central regions, while no precipitation is expected in the south and east.
On Wednesday, December 24, under the influence of a slow-moving cold front, snowfall is possible in the western regions and the Vinnytsia region. Heavy snow and blizzards are expected in parts of the Carpathian region, leading to icy roads. No precipitation is expected in the other areas of Ukraine. Northeast wind at a speed of 5-10 m/s, in the western regions, 9-14 m/s. Temperatures at night will range from -2 to -8 °C, during the day from -1 to -6 °C. In the northeast, the air will cool down to -8…-13 °C at night and to -5…-10 °C during the day. In the far south and Transcarpathia, temperatures of -2 to +3 °C are possible at night, and during the day, 0 to +5 °C.
On Thursday, December 25, partly cloudy and frosty weather without precipitation is expected throughout Ukraine. Only in Precarpathia at night and in the first half of the day, light snow is still possible. There may be ice on roads in some western regions. The wind will change direction at 3-8 m/s. At night, the temperature will drop to -5…-12 °C, and during the day it will remain within -1…-6 °C. In the south, particularly in Crimea and Transcarpathia, temperatures will approach 0 °C.
According to forecasts, frost and snow are possible across Ukraine during the holiday period, especially on Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
