Kyiv judge does not disclose his wife’s expenses for real estate investments in Cyprus

Judge of the Commercial Court of Kyiv Artem Selivon did not indicate in his declarations the expenses related to his wife’s investment in the construction of residential real estate in Cyprus. Although the investment was noted, the documents do not provide details about the family’s financial contributions.

According to the investigation, at the end of last year, the judge’s wife invested in the construction of an apartment in the Republic of Cyprus. The object is currently under construction, the ownership has not yet been registered, but financial obligations and expenses have already arisen.

At the same time, Artem Selivon’s declarations for this period do not indicate any expenses or payments related to this investment. In particular, there is no information about the amounts of contributions and sources of funds for financing the construction.

In accordance with anti-corruption legislation, persons obliged to declare must indicate not only the property of family members, but also significant financial expenses and liabilities, including investments in real estate, regardless of the country of location and the stage of readiness of the object.

Investments in objects under construction must be declared at the time payments are made. The presence or absence of such data in the declarations may indicate incomplete information. In this case, we are not talking about concealing the fact of investment, but about the non-disclosure of financial expenses that are important for controlling judges’ income and lifestyle.
