Kyivzelenbud official reported on suspicion of overpayment of over UAH 2 million

Criminal proceedings have been initiated in the capital over the overhaul of green areas in Obolon, in which an official of the municipal association “Kyivzelenbud” is suspected. He is accused of official negligence, which resulted in losses of more than two million hryvnias.

Suspicion was expressed against the head of one of the departments of “Kyivzelenbud” under the procedural supervision of the Dnipro District Prosecutor’s Office. According to the investigation, the official agreed with a private company to carry out works on the overhaul and improvement of the park around the lakes Yordanske and Kyrylivske, the cost of which exceeded 9 million hryvnias.

As law enforcement officers noted, the project documentation significantly overestimated the prices for construction materials. As a result, more than 2 million hryvnias were paid from the city budget without justification, confirming the harm caused to the territorial community of Kyiv.

For official negligence, as stipulated by Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the legislation provides a penalty of imprisonment for a term of two to five years. It is also possible to deprive the right to hold certain positions or engage in relevant activities for up to three years. The court has the right to impose a fine of 250 to 750 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens.

The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Dnipro Police Department with the support of specialists from the Strategic Investigations Department.
