State Border Service of Ukraine official detained for extorting 10% from supplier of spare parts for the front
As part of a pre-trial investigation, law enforcement agencies detained an employee of the automobile service of one of the military units of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, who is suspected of receiving bribes from a private entrepreneur for the supply of auto parts.
The official was detained under the procedural guidance of prosecutors from the Prosecutor General’s Office. The investigation established that he received improper payments during the purchase of auto parts for the military unit.
It was revealed that the employee demanded and received 10% of the cost of each batch of supplied auto parts for the needs of the military unit. The total amount of bribes received amounted to 110 thousand hryvnias.
The purchases took place within the framework of public tenders and were aimed at providing equipment used in the combat zone.
Law enforcement officers managed to record three cases of receiving a bribe, in particular, in July and September 2025.
On January 2, 2026, the employee was detained while receiving the next portion of money, the actions were carried out in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
The person in the case was notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for receiving an unlawful benefit by an official occupying a responsible position.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation with the support of units of the National Police of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime until his guilt is proven in court.
