Prepare for life in the dark: the National Security and Defense Council explained why power outages will last a long time

As a result of Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, power outages have become a common occurrence for residents. Olga Babiy, an advisor to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, noted that the situation is gradually improving with the onset of spring. However, the power outage schedules remain valid.

The expert explained that as temperatures rise, the productivity of solar power plants will increase and the need for electricity from heating will decrease. Although power supply problems may persist, the risks to the population’s health from frost will decrease.

She also emphasized that the restoration of heat supply depends on the speed with which the consequences of the recent attacks are eliminated, in particular by clearing debris and dismantling damaged structures. However, the official deadlines for completing these works have not yet been announced.

Olga Babiy previously noted that Russia may continue to attack Ukraine’s energy system, especially given the frosty weather that forecasters are warning about.

Recall that recently, a military expert predicted the possibility of a turning point in the war as early as 2026, explaining what would be necessary for it.

In addition, it was reported about the activities of the Nadiya Foundation, which, together with Valery Dubil and Vita Prysiazhnyuk, continues to provide support to border regions; they recently carried out a mission in the Chernihiv region.

In addition, the Ministry of Economy called on retail chains to organize 24-hour operation of individual supermarkets in the Desnyanskyi district of the capital.
