In the Carpathian region, a lieutenant colonel of the CCC received $2,000 for “assistance” in military accounting
A lieutenant colonel who temporarily headed the regional territorial center for recruitment and social support was detained in the Carpathian region. According to the investigation, he demanded 2,000 US dollars from conscripts for assistance in removing them from the military wanted list.
In the Ivano-Frankivsk region, law enforcement officers found a 36-year-old official suspected of corruption. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the lieutenant colonel, acting as the head of the institution, demanded money from two men who contacted the center for information about the possibility of removing them from the military wanted list.
The official assured them that in order to draw up an administrative report, it was necessary to appear at the center, but he also offered an alternative – to avoid these steps for a monetary reward.
In March, the suspect received the specified amount in two stages. During the transfer of the second part of the money, he was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
On March 13, 2026, the official was declared suspicious under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine under the procedural guidance of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense of the Western Region.
The court determined a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail. A motion was also filed to remove the suspect from office.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, during which the possibility of his involvement in other offenses is being checked. It is important to note that according to Ukrainian law, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
