In Volyn, BEB uncovered a large-scale scheme for manufacturing counterfeit fuel with millions of turnover

In the Volyn region, employees of the Territorial Department of the BEB discovered an organized criminal group that was engaged in the illegal production and sale of fuel. This scheme covered several regions of Ukraine and operated under the guise of legal enterprises.

Law enforcement officers established that the participants organized the clandestine production of fuel using warehouses and artisanal technologies. In particular, diesel fuel was mixed with gas condensate, which significantly worsened the quality of the resulting products.

According to preliminary conclusions of experts, the produced fuel did not meet safety standards, but was sold through a network of gas stations that became partners of this scheme. It is likely that the group members used special software to manage order accounting and control the release of fuel. Payments were made both in cash and through bank accounts of related enterprises, which helped to avoid paying taxes and create a fictitious tax credit.

During the authorized searches, law enforcement officers seized more than 80 thousand liters of fuel of dubious quality, gas condensate, pumping equipment, fuel dispensers, computer equipment and draft records.

In addition, 2.7 million hryvnias, about 230 thousand US dollars and more than 7 thousand euros were seized. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, law enforcement officers are identifying all persons involved in criminal activity.

We remind you that earlier in the Kyiv region a large illegal network was also exposed, which was engaged in the sale of tobacco products and electronic cigarettes. BEB employees conducted searches that led to the seizure of products worth more than 2 million hryvnias, as well as equipment and documents confirming illegal activity.
