What should an applicant do if he finds an error in a task during the NMT: explanation from the director of the UCEQA

In the National Multi-Subject Test, despite numerous checks, minor technical errors or errors in the texts of tasks may occur. The Center for Educational Quality Assessment explained how applicants should act in case such inaccuracies are detected during testing.

Head of the UCEQA Tetyana Vakulenko said in an interview that, although critical errors are rare, they are possible due to technical failures or the human factor. If a test participant notices an error, he should contact the instructor, but at the same time continue to complete the tasks. To resolve such situations, the UCEQA has developed a clear algorithm:

Analysis of the error by specialists. After the test is completed, experts conduct a detailed analysis of the disputed issue.
Consideration by the appeal commission. If it is confirmed that an error has occurred, the issue is transferred to the commission for a decision.
Tetyana Vakulenko also noted that the decision in such cases is usually made in favor of the participants. If the error is confirmed, two scenarios are possible:

Exclusion of the task. The task with the error is excluded from the calculation of points so as not to affect the overall result.
All participants are credited with points. Participants can be credited with the correct answer to avoid inequalities.
The head of the UCEQA emphasized that the main thing is to protect the interests of applicants, since none of them should suffer due to the imperfection of the system.

It recently became known that there are restrictions on what cannot be brought to the NMT, in particular, smart watches are considered prohibited. Applicants also have the opportunity to make changes to their registration data for the 2026 tests. An increase in scholarships for students was also announced, which is planned from September 1.
