Vegetables that should not be planted nearby: you will lose your harvest

Garden planning is a complex system where it is important to correctly position each plant so that it can develop in favorable conditions.

Effective plant neighborhoods contribute to their better growth, while inappropriate combinations can lead to a deterioration in yield or its loss.

For example, potatoes are considered a “problem” crop. It is not recommended to plant it next to cucumbers, melons, zucchini, sunflowers, tomatoes and turnips, as this increases the risk of diseases and the appearance of pests.

There are also other incompatible pairs. For example, carrots do not grow well next to dill and parsley, as they can inhibit its development. Beans should not be planted next to garlic, onions, peppers and sunflowers – these crops negatively affect its growth.

Peppers only have problems with beans. In the case of tomatoes, cabbage, potatoes and corn are not suitable for them. As for cabbage, it has its “enemies” – it should not be planted next to tomatoes, strawberries, broccoli and cauliflower.

As for beets, they do not like neighbors such as mustard and beans, and cucumbers should not be planted next to potatoes, melons and aromatic herbs. However, eggplant is one of the most compatible crops that grows well with most plants.

Experts note that the right combination of crops can reduce the need for chemical treatments and grow environmentally friendly vegetables. Therefore, when planning your garden, it is important to take into account not only the growing conditions, but also the compatibility of different plants.
