Academician on a truck and in the field: the double life of Volodymyr Ivanyshin
Volodymyr Ivanyshyn served as rector of Podolsk State Agrarian and Technical University, now known as Podolsk State University in Khmelnytskyi, for over ten years. As an academician of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAS), a member of the regional council, and a participant in a number of scandals, he has acquired a status during his tenure, which is confirmed by his declaration data, which reflect significant land assets and several companies.
In April 2026, he filed his last declaration for 2025, which does not indicate his previous position as rector. Ivanyshyn currently works as an advisor to the Presidium of the NAAS and acting vice president of the academy. Despite the change in position, he continues to work as a professor at his previous university.
Ivanyshyn’s declaration lists 14 real estate properties. Among them are five land plots in the Ternopil region, each with an area of 20,000 square meters, which he registered in 2015. He received several more land plots in subsequent years, and also owns several apartments and a house.
As for cars, there is only a 2007 IVECO Magirus truck and a trailer. There is a certain nuance here, since the declaration lacks data on corporate rights, while open registers indicate his connections with numerous enterprises.
The family’s income for 2025 turned into an impressive amount – over 3 million hryvnias. This, in particular, is Ivanyshyn’s salary from the university and the NAAS, as well as his wife’s income from entrepreneurial activities.
A study of the registers indicates that Ivanyshyn is associated with several companies that are not reflected in his declaration. According to information, in 2015 he successfully ran for regional council deputies, and previously held the position of Deputy Minister of Industrial Policy of Ukraine.
The combination of his academic, political and business activities raises questions about possible conflicts of interest. Requests have now been submitted to the NACP and NAAS in order to obtain more detailed information.
Thus, despite the change in professional status, Ivanyshyn’s business interests remained intact, which certainly requires additional investigation.
