Drivers must obtain additional insurance: in its absence, the fine will be 17 thousand hryvnias
Important news for all drivers in Ukraine: From now on, in addition to compulsory MTPL insurance, drivers of passenger cars must also have a personal insurance policy.
Failure to comply with this rule may result in severe financial penalties. Police inspectors and representatives of Ukrtransbezpeka have the right to check the availability of this insurance.
This information was made public in a story on a Ukrainian TV channel. The fine for not having an additional policy can reach UAH 17,000.
According to lawyers, the transport company is responsible for the absence of this document. However, fines are usually deducted from the salary of the employee who committed the violation. Lawyers recommend that drivers take out additional insurance to prevent financial losses.
It is worth noting that a new law has also come into force in Ukraine, which allows the possibility of confiscating cars from owners who violate customs regulations. This became possible due to the changes made to the Customs Code through the draft law No. 10257, which toughens the penalties for smuggling and illegal importation of goods. Now, cars can be seized even for indirect violations of the legislation on the movement of goods across the border.
