Artur Palatnyi reacted sharply to the searches for the head of the UDAR faction, calling for an end to political persecution

The UDAR party’s first deputy chairman, Artur Palatnyi, believes that the central government is pressuring Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko’s team to complicate its activities.
“The central government has resorted to putting pressure on Klitschko’s team, organizing a real terror. On the day of the extraordinary session of the Kyiv City Council, security forces received an order to break into the homes of mothers, wives, and children of Kyiv City Council members. We call on the authorities to stop such political persecution and focus on fighting the aggressor. The loss of freedoms and democratic values will lead to the loss of our statehood. The authorities should not think about their seats but protecting the country,” said Palatnyi.
According to him, representatives of the State Bureau of Investigation showed up at the home of Dmytro Bilotserkovets, co-chair of the UDAR faction in the Kyiv City Council, while the deputy was at the session. His wife, a person with a group II disability, and young children stayed at home.
Palatnyi added: “Special forces were used against them, used to neutralize the most dangerous criminals. The actions of the law enforcement officers were brutal, and their statements at the beginning of the search indicate political motivation: ‘Well, the elections have started, so we came to you.’ After they found out that Dmytro was not at home, they chased him on his way to work, using force and taking his phone, and the search of his house was conducted without a court order,” he emphasized.
