A regular purchase at the supermarket turned out to be a big scam: a pensioner overpaid a huge amount
In today’s world, where time has become a precious resource, consumers often find themselves in situations where their rights may be violated due to mistakes or negligence.
It is important to be attentive and carefully check the details when shopping.
A recent story from Australia confirms that caution never hurts. In Sydney, a situation occurred at a Woolworths supermarket that attracted attention. One customer told the popular forum Reddit about an unfortunate incident involving her mother, who became the victim of a serious error during the calculation.
The supermarket cashier demanded payment that was almost four times higher than it should have been. In particular, a piece of ham weighing 256 grams cost $36 instead of $9.22 because the cashier incorrectly indicated the price per kilogram.
Interestingly, such an error could have occurred due to incorrect data entry since the price was probably entered manually. Only thanks to the mother’s attentiveness, as she noticed the difference in price, was it possible to avoid significant financial losses.
