Valeriy Dubil: “Modifications in the regulation of the timber market could lead to the loss of tens of thousands of jobs”

Valeriy Dubil, head of the Kyiv city organization of the Batkivshchyna party and the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Health, stated that the party is categorically against bill 4197-d, which proposes to change the rules for regulating the timber market.

According to Dubil, this bill threatens the development of the woodworking industry in Ukraine by giving preference to large monopolists. This may negatively affect tens of thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Batkivshchyna’s leader, Yulia Tymoshenko, also supported this position. She again emphasized that the proposed document has a corruption component that harms the industry and the country.

Tymoshenko noted that the bill’s adoption will result in only large woodworking companies being able to purchase raw materials, which will lead to the closure of about 6,000 small and medium-sized enterprises. This, in turn, will leave hundreds of thousands of people unemployed.

The political party “Batkivshchyna” demands that the consideration of bill 4197-d be canceled and the moratorium on the export of roundwood be extended. This will help provide Ukrainian woodworking enterprises with the necessary raw materials.
