Stopkorivtsy took part in the Carpathian Sea forum in Truskavets, where public activists from Ukraine and Europe gathered

A forum was held in Truskavets from April 28 to May 2, dedicated to discussing current issues, exchanging experiences, and opening up new opportunities for the restoration of Ukraine and cooperation with European countries. Representatives of the NGO “Stop Corruption”, particularly Iryna Petrenko and Lyudmila Chaykovska, participated in the event.

The forum, which took place during this period, brought together more than 500 participants interested in international cooperation. The main goal of the event was to discuss initiatives aimed at restoring Ukraine and establishing ties with other states.

The participants were representatives of government agencies, city mayors, international diplomats, business people, scientists, journalists, veterans, and volunteers from the USA, Norway, Great Britain, Iceland, Sweden, Estonia, and South Korea.

At the “Democratic Week” forum, Iryna Petrenko, coordinator of regional branches of the NGO “Stop Corruption”, and Lyudmila Chaykovska, deputy of the Brovary district council, actively discussed pressing issues.

Lyudmila Chaykovska shared her impressions: “The Democratic Week of the Carpathian Sea brought together representatives of the government, business, the scientific community, and international partners to discuss the challenges of the democratic paradigm in the conditions of war and after its end. This community is the key to cohesion in modern society.”

The forum began with commemorating the fallen heroes, signing a declaration supporting Ukraine, and the awarding ceremony of partners. A special moment was the holding of an international flash mob, during which the participants performed the patriotic song “Oh, the red viburnum in the meadow,” setting an optimistic tone for the event.

The event became a platform for discussing current challenges and prospects for Ukraine’s recovery from war, as well as key principles for future reconstruction:

• Resilience and unity of society: emphasis on increased community cohesion and support.
• Cooperation between communities: formation of effective interaction models for joint development.
• The role of the media during war: the importance of journalism in the fight for the truth.
• Ecological recovery: strategies for sustainable infrastructure development.
• Energy security: finding ways to achieve energy independence at the local level.
• Grant opportunities: discussion of financial instruments to support communities and businesses.
• Rehabilitation: means of supporting veterans.
• Economic recovery: algorithms for developing the economic potential of the state.

A panel discussion on the topic “Cultural diplomacy is a powerful peacemaking tool” was held as part of the forum. Among the participants were well-known figures of Ukrainian culture, particularly poets Marianna Kiyanovska and Yulia Berezhko-Kaminska, as well as representatives of cultural initiatives from Ukraine and abroad.

As part of Democratic Week, the charity project “Birds of Victory” was also held. The organizers held an auction of exclusive items, and the funds raised were directed to support Ukrainian defenders.

This year, Lyudmila Chaykovska also took part in the forum “Authorities, Business, Community: Cooperation for Development” in Baryshivka, Kyiv region, where she was awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Kyiv Regional Council for her significant contribution to the development of local self-government.
