Scandal at the Met Gala: Lisa from BLACKPINK presented an image that caused controversy on social networks
On May 6, 2025, the annual Met Gala charity ball was held in New York. Thai singer and dancer Lisa Manoban, a member of the popular South Korean group BLACKPINK, took part in this event for the first time, attracting the attention of those present.
She appeared on the red carpet in an elegant outfit from Louis Vuitton, which she had created in collaboration with artist Henry Taylor. Her costume consisted of a transparent lace bodysuit and tights decorated with embroidered portraits characteristic of Taylor’s style.
One portrait that caused active discussions on social networks was placed in the underwear area. Users suggested that it could depict Rosa Parks, a prominent activist and symbol of the struggle for the rights of the black population in the United States. Many people considered the use of this portrait in such a context unacceptable, given the significance of Parks’ personality.
Louis Vuitton representatives noted that all images are the author’s interpretations, which have personal meaning for Henry Taylor, but did not confirm that Lisa’s bodysuit depicts Rosa Parks.
At the time of publication, Lisa had not commented on the situation.
