The Ministry of Defense has requested the “disarmament” of some employees: who can be called up to the front

The Government of Ukraine has adopted a new decision regarding the reservation of medical workers in state and municipal medical institutions, blood centers, and organizations engaged in forensic medical examination. This decision will ensure the protection of doctors from mobilization.

At the same time, in case of urgent army needs, it is possible to “de-reserve” individual medical professionals if they are critically needed for the medical service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Ministry of Defense has already submitted a request to exclude specialists such as paramedics and nurses from the reservation so that they can help in units experiencing a personnel shortage.

Medical workers who have already been trained in military accounting specialties will receive priority. The military urgently needs such specialists to provide necessary medical care.

The Ministry of Health, together with the regional health departments, will determine which doctors and nurses can be “de-reserved” to strengthen the army’s medical support. Such specialists will have the opportunity to conclude a fixed-term contract and work in military units.

It is important to emphasize that this does not mean a mass cancellation of reservations—the cancellation will be targeted, only for those who are truly needed at the front. This initiative is aimed at strengthening medical support for the military.

In addition, the government has introduced an online booking mechanism through the “Diya” platform. This will simplify the booking process for medical workers. Still, only those who officially work in medical institutions and are registered in the military registration system will have access to this mechanism.
