The CCC clarified information about the “catch” of citizens on the streets

Roman Istomin, spokesman for the Poltava Regional Territorial Recruitment Center, emphasized that the primary goal of the CCC is not to identify draft evaders but to coordinate mobilization activities. They serve as a liaison between the civilian population and the army and do not engage in repression.

Istomin said this in an interview.

According to him, CCC employees have the right to serve summonses, but “identifying draft evaders” is not part of their duties.

“Citizens should adhere to the law and not wait for CCC employees to appear to detain them,” he noted.

Istomin also noted that the CCC performs certain functions that may be considered outside their standard duties, which arises due to inconsistency with the laws.

He also explained that it is impossible to fully transfer the functions of the CCC to the recruiting centers, as the latter focus solely on selecting candidates for contract service rather than on mobilization processes.

CCCs play a crucial role in facilitating communication between civil society and the military. They provide official contact with relatives of service members who have died, gone missing, or are on the front line. This includes sending documents, organizing assistance, and coordinating actions in wartime conditions.

Additionally, the centers are responsible for ensuring the logistical needs of units that cannot independently manage their logistics.

General mobilization is underway in Ukraine, and an increasing number of men are receiving summonses, which necessitates updating the rules of work for military medical commissions to assess fitness for service.
