Rocket attack on training center in Sumy region: 6 dead, more than 10 injured

A missile strike on a firing range in the Sumy region killed six service members and injured more than ten. An official investigation has been launched into the incident, and the commander of the military unit has been suspended from his duties pending the outcome of the investigation.

As a result of an attack by Russian troops on a firing range in one of the training centers in the Sumy region, six servicemen were killed, and more than ten were injured. The strike occurred during training.

The National Guard of Ukraine has confirmed that an official investigation has already been launched. The commander of the unit has been suspended, and all necessary information has been transferred to the relevant authorities.

The NGU report indicates that instructions had previously been developed and recommendations issued to ensure security in the event of air attacks and to prevent the accumulation of personnel.

The command and law enforcement officers promise to conduct a thorough check and provide a legal assessment of the actions of all officials involved after the investigation is completed.

The National Guard expresses its sincere condolences to the families of those killed and wounded as a result of the enemy strike.

On the night of May 21, Sumy again became a target for Russian attacks: more than 10 explosions were recorded, and the city was left without electricity and water supply. Some facilities were switched to backup power. According to Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar, the town experienced 11 explosions, and two enterprises were damaged – one of them was hit by five drones, while the other was hit by two.
