Negotiations in Istanbul: The expert explained what topics will be discussed and whether Putin will come
Famous expert Oleksandr Musienko expressed the opinion that Russian President Vladimir Putin will not visit Istanbul. He explains this by the fact that Putin is afraid of decisive steps and does not intend to accelerate peace talks. According to him, Putin’s interest is to create the illusion of a peacekeeping process, but his goal is to restore the Russian Empire, not to stop the conflict.
According to the information in the British edition of The Times, the Kremlin will require the surrender of Ukraine, the consolidation of the occupied territories, the change of power in Kyiv, as well as Territorial concessions.
Musienko also notes that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will use his visit to Turkey for meaningful negotiations with President Recep Erdoğan on the issues of security, defense, and economics.
At the same time, he said, Putin can delegate his representatives, such as Lavrov or Cossack, for negotiations, but there will be no need to meet Zelensky. After that, Russia attempted to accuse Ukraine of disrupting the peace process.
