The cost of picnic food has increased: barbecue will become significantly more expensive
Ukraine is experiencing a stabilization of weather conditions, creating favorable conditions for outdoor recreation. However, new prices in supermarkets call into question the good intentions of frying kebabs. Monitoring data on the “Minfin” portal reveals the changes in the cost of pork and marinade.
At the end of May, Ukrainian retail chains introduced new price increases for meat products, in particular pork. This is likely due to the start of the picnic season and the resulting increase in demand for meat products.
Pork prices
Pre-marinated kebabs have appeared on the market, which only need to be cooked. Their average cost is 293.50 hryvnias per kilogram, which is 40 hryvnias more than last month. Oshiyok now costs 323.43 hryvnias per kilogram, and recently, its price was 300.37 hryvnias. The price of pork loin has increased from 199.56 to 229 hryvnias per kilo, and ribs now cost 211.50 hryvnias, which is 11 hryvnias more.
Marinade prices
Veres marinade for kebabs costs an average of 29.20 hryvnias per 140 grams, which is 57 kopecks less than last month.
Thus, consumers are faced with an increase in prices for meat products, but some positions have still experienced a decrease in cost, which may cause changes in the choice of products for cooking.
