Mass checks of men in public places: key information

As part of the general mobilization in Ukraine, representatives of territorial recruitment and social support centers (TCC and SP) can verify the availability of military registration documents and identity cards for men aged 18 to 60, said Ihor Napolsky, the head of the Zhytomyr regional CCC and SP.

According to the decree of the President of Ukraine No. 69/2022, issued on February 24, 2022, a general mobilization was introduced in Ukraine, which remains in effect to this day. During this mobilization, citizens of the country are called up to serve in the Armed Forces to protect the state. Employees of the CCC and SP conduct checks on the availability of relevant documents for those liable for military service, as mandated by current legislation and Resolution No. 560 of the Cabinet of Ministers, dated May 16, 2024.

Representatives of the CCC and the SP have the right to demand the presentation of a military ID (in both paper and electronic form) along with a document confirming identity. Such checks can be carried out:

at the place of residence, work, or study;
in public buildings;
on the streets and in places where people gather;
at checkpoints and checkpoints.
The check can be carried out by both CCC employees and SP representatives, as well as police officers.

It has recently been reported that at 23:00 on May 16, representatives of the CCC and the SP, along with the police, conducted a check at the Barbarossa Bar nightclub in Zhytomyr. According to law enforcement officers, this incident was part of a planned check of entertainment establishments, during which a conflict arose.

We remind you that men aged 50-60 can also be called up to the front, and the mobilization action can affect their deployment. At the same time, it is worth noting that failure to comply with the CCC’s summons may result in fines or the blocking of bank accounts and vehicles.
