Israel strikes Iranian positions, casualties and damage

On the evening of June 15, Iran launched a new round of rocket fire into Israel, resulting in direct hits on residential buildings and civilian injuries. According to the Israeli military, air defense systems were responding to the missile threats, and residents of major cities, including Haifa, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Bat Yam, were urged to seek shelter.

Magen David Adom paramedics quickly arrived at the scene of the strikes, where, according to preliminary reports, several people in Bat Yam received moderate to light injuries. Emergency responders continue to search the area for casualties.

The areas of Rehovot, Kiryat Ekron, and northern cities were also hit, including Haifa, where a direct hit on a residential area was reported. Rescue teams have intensified their efforts at the scene, and minor shrapnel injuries have already been recorded.

Witnesses described explosions in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv at around 8 pm, while the BBC’s Yalda Hakim recorded a rocket flying over the city and described panic among the population.

At least four people were reportedly injured when a ballistic missile hit the south of the country, but the city has not yet been named. The Israeli army has urged citizens to avoid key infrastructure in light of the possibility of further attacks.

Fire and rescue teams are working intensively at the sites of the hits, as well as where debris from the downed missiles has been found.
