The return of the classics: “Karaoke on the Maidan” is back at the festival in Kyiv
The iconic show is back: Igor Kondratyuk held “Karaoke on the Maidan” in the open air at the Music Box Fest in Kyiv, attracting a large number of spectators and charitable contributions.
After a five-year hiatus, the Ukrainian show “Karaoke on the Maidan” returned to the stage. On June 21, the Music Box Fest hosted a vibrant show at the Ice Stadium in Kyiv, although some sources reported that it was held at VDNH.
Igor Kondratyuk announced the event on June 19, noting: “Yes, you didn’t think so – “Karaoke on the Maidan” with Igor Kondratyuk will be at the Music Box Fest again! Live sound, real emotions, and the opportunity to become a star. Your ticket is a 100% contribution to help children fighting cancer.”
The program last aired in January 2019, and since then, warm memories of live singing in the open air, microphones passing from one participant to another, have filled me with nostalgia.
Igor Kondratyuk, the show’s permanent host and producer, once again invited people to the stage among the crowd. The video from the event shows a large gathering of viewers. The program’s return is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of its television broadcast, as it was from Kyiv that the story of “Karaoke on the Maidan” originated, and now it is once again symbolically returning to this city.
In addition, on June 8, Igor Kondratyuk announced the following shows within the framework of the “Generations” festival, which will take place in the cities of Dnipro, Kyiv, and Lviv, aimed at raising funds for three separate assault brigades.
Maria Burmaka also shared that she was filming at the Irpin Lyceum with Kondratyuk, Slava Demin, and Khas, although details about the project remain a secret.
