Blake Lively loses in court: Justin Baldona gets her correspondence with Taylor Swift

A judge has ruled that actor and director Justin Baldoni can access Blake Lively’s private correspondence with her friend Taylor Swift. The ruling is part of a lawsuit in which Lively accuses Baldoni of sexual harassment.

The actress’s lawyers tried to challenge the request, but Judge Lyman rejected their arguments. He noted that she identified Swift as someone who could have been aware of the situation on the set of the film “It’s All Over Us.”

The court’s ruling states: “The request concerns information that could confirm or refute Lively’s allegations of harassment.”

The film, released in August last year, has grossed over $350 million worldwide. In December 2024, Blake Lively filed a formal complaint with the California Department of Civil Rights, accusing Baldoni of “unwanted conduct” and attempts to damage her reputation.

Baldoni denied all the allegations and filed a counterclaim, which also mentions Lively’s husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist Leslie Sloan. According to the director, they participated in defamation and extortion. Baldoni demanded $ 400 million in compensation.

The court partially dismissed both claims: on June 4, Lively’s claim for moral damages was denied. On June 9, the court also rejected Baldoni’s claim, recognizing that Lively’s statements about harassment are protected by law. However, the director has the right to re-file the part of the claim that concerns interference with his business relations.
