Russia’s strike on Odessa: drone kills family in their apartment

On June 28, as the war entered its 1,221st day, Russian forces struck civilians again. A nighttime drone attack on a residential complex in Odessa killed a couple and injured several people, including children.

On the night of June 27-28, Russian drones hit a 21-story apartment building in Odessa, causing a massive fire that engulfed several floors of the building.

Residents were trapped in their apartments. Rescuers arrived on the scene within minutes. Search and rescue operations continued throughout the night and part of the next day.

The bodies of a deceased couple were found in the rubble, according to the head of the Odessa regional administration, Oleg Kiper. Unfortunately, the couple was unable to escape the danger zone in time.

“Rescuers have recovered the bodies of the deceased couple from the rubble, who were victims of an enemy strike. I express my condolences to their relatives and friends,” said Kiper.

Among the injured are children: a seven-year-old boy received moderate injuries, and combustion products poisoned a three-year-old child.

“In addition, two children are in medical facilities: a seven-year-old boy in stable, moderate condition and a three-year-old child with poisoning. Doctors are providing them with all necessary assistance.”

Four more adults were injured and were hospitalized with an assessment of their condition as moderate.

Psychologists are working at the scene, and a special Indestructibility Point from the State Emergency Service has also been organized. Repeated air alarms complicated the situation.

It is worth noting that on the night of June 10, Russian troops also carried out attacks on Odessa using kamikaze drones. Then, residential buildings and medical facilities were damaged, resulting in casualties and injuries.
