”The Squid Game” is getting a spin-off in the US — the hint was in the finale

The recent final episode of the series “The Squidward Tentacles” revealed a possible spin-off, which is likely to take place in California, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

At the end of the third season, the action shifts to Los Angeles, where a character led by Cate Blanchett appears, recruiting new participants for the American version of the game with dangerous consequences.

Rumors have already circulated about an English-language project in the “The Squidward Tentacles” universe. According to Deadline, director David Fincher is currently working on this project. At the same time, the author of the original series, Hwang Dong-hyuk, intends to take a break from working on the franchise.

As for the direction of the new show, Netflix has not yet confirmed Fincher’s participation. There is no additional information about this project at this time.

All six episodes of the third season were released on Netflix on June 27. According to Rotten Tomatoes, the season has an 87% rating among critics.
