Business partner’s companies Belza received contracts for the Armed Forces: Journalists appealed to the SBU

Did the SBU check companies that can supply armies with Russian communications? StopCor sent a formal request for the activities of Peter Belz and his firms.

According to journalists, despite the war in Ukraine, companies related to the pro-Russian politician Viktor Medvedchuk continue to receive favorable state contracts. Particular attention is paid to Petro Belz, a businessman from Ivano-Frankivsk, who has direct links with Medvedchuk.

Belz is the founder of Wexler Group’s oil company, which in 2020 ranked 52nd in the list of the largest private companies in Ukraine according to Forbes. The successes of his business may be partly due to close cooperation with Medvedchuk. One of Belz’s key assets is Anvitrade LLC, where he served as CEO. This company controlled the area of the Samara – Western Naflage, which received oil products from Russia.

According to open sources, Israeli businessman Nissan Moiseev plays a significant role in this structure, with business ties to Belz and Medvedchuk. In 2016, journalists recorded their joint arrival on a private aircraft from Moscow to Kyiv.

After a full-scale war, Belz-related companies continue to participate in public procurement. In January 2024, LLC “Yeuro Oil Production” concluded a contract for the supply of motor oil worth more than UAH 34 million. In contrast, in December 2022, Anvitrade received an agreement for UAH 164 million without open bidding, which raises questions about the transparency of these transactions.

Before the war, in 2020-2021, Anvitrade won tenders, offering significantly reduced prices due to the supply of fuel from Russia and Belarus, which allowed it to displace competitors from the market and increased dependence on supply from aggressors.

There is currently concern that Belz -working companies are accessing the supply to the Ukrainian army and other strategic institutions. This can create risks to national security, as contracts with such companies can become a source of corruption and indirectly finance Russian aggression.

The StopCor Editorial has sent an official request to the Security Service of Ukraine to find out:

Whether the SBU was checking the activities of Peter Belz and his companies;
Whether criminal proceedings have been opened on the facts of possible cooperation with representatives of the aggressor country;
What measures were taken regarding Anvitrade LLC and Yeuro Oil Production LLC in the context of participation in public procurement?
Does the SBU see a threat to national security in its further activities?
Peter Belz denies any connections with Viktor Medvedchuk and other politicians. However, according to insiders, his companies can be involved in the distribution of land in the Carpathian region in the interests of Putin’s godfather.
