Emmy Watson banned from driving in the UK for six months: the reason

A court in the UK has imposed a temporary driving ban on actress Emma Watson for repeated speeding offences.

According to the BBC, on July 31, 2024, the actress was stopped in Oxford for speeding, as she was driving at 38 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone. This was her tenth speeding offence.

The hearing took place on July 16 at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court and lasted just five minutes. Emma Watson was not present at the hearing. The court fined her £1,044 and disqualified her from driving for six months.

The actress has rarely appeared in public in recent years. Her last significant film role was in the 2019 film Little Women. Since 2023, she has been studying for an MA in Creative Writing at Oxford University.

In May of this year, Emma made a surprise appearance at the Cannes Film Festival – her first appearance in 12 years.
