У Криму, що під окупацією, відбулася масована кібератака, яка порушила роботу інтернет-провайдерів

A massive cyberattack took place in occupied Crimea, disrupting the work of Internet providers

In Crimea, temporarily occupied by Russia, a large-scale cyberattack on fixed-line operators has been recorded. This has led to problems with communication and access to the Internet for many users.

The so-called “Ministry of Internal Policy, Information and Communications of Crimea” reported on the situation.

“A massive DDOS attack on major fixed-line operators is ongoing in Crimea,” the statement said.

According to information from the occupation authorities, some services may be temporarily unavailable. Technical specialists are already working to restore communication.

The problems mentioned concern telecommunications companies that provide Internet and telephony services via cable networks or fiber-optic connections. These technologies, unlike mobile communications, are tied to specific addresses and require a physical connection.

Earlier, Ukrainian cyber experts carried out attacks on the information systems of the Russian company Gazprom, which led to severe disruptions in its activities and could affect gas transportation, causing financial consequences.

Additionally, it became known that Ildar Akhmerov, the chief of staff and first deputy commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, was probably eliminated in Crimea.
