The case of the former deputy director of Kyivpastrans will be considered due to the misappropriation of UAH 5.1 million during the purchase of tires
The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office has completed a pre-trial investigation into the case of embezzlement of budget funds related to state procurement. The indictment against the former deputy director for production of the municipal enterprise “Kyivpastrans” has been sent to court.
According to the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation revealed that in 2022, the official, together with the director of a private company and several other persons, created a scheme for the illegal appropriation of state finances. This happened during the tender for the purchase of tires for “Kyivpastrans”.
According to the case materials, the officials specifically developed discriminatory conditions in the tender documentation, which corresponded to only one company, which won the tender. Then a contract was concluded under which the tires were supplied at inflated prices, significantly exceeding market indicators.
As a result of the forensic examinations, it was revealed that the budget was lost for 5.1 million hryvnias.
The former deputy director was charged with large-scale appropriation of property by prior conspiracy of a group of persons (Part 5, Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of this article provides for up to 12 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The court will begin consideration of the case shortly.
