Which categories of convicts are not subject to conscription into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to the commander?
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have imposed strict restrictions on the conditions for accepting into service individuals with certain criminal charges.
This information was announced by Major Andriy Melnyk, combat commander of the Artan X unit.
He reported that the candidacies of people convicted of crimes related to sexual violence and drug crimes will not be considered.
In particular, individuals with possible charges under articles related to treason, terrorism, or those who have received a life sentence cannot be accepted into service, the major added.
In the case of other criminal offenses, candidates will be evaluated individually: “We consider the documents and circumstances of each case, if the candidate demonstrates their motivation.”
