Financial support for first-graders: how to apply correctly and what to consider

In 2025, families with first-graders will be able to use state aid for 5,000 hryvnias as part of the “Student Package” program. This initiative provides convenience through digital services and is aimed at supporting families. The Pension Fund of Ukraine includes information about the payment terms via social networks.

After registering a child in an educational institution through the AICOM platform, one of the parents will receive a notification in the “Diya” application with a proposal to issue a payment. The funds are credited to a special bonus account, which must be used within six months exclusively for the purchase of school supplies, clothes, and shoes for the child.

The program does not apply to children who have not started school, are outside the country, or are in occupied territories. For families who have previously received state aid, such as through “eSupport”, the application process will become even simpler. There is no need to submit a new card; the payment will be made to the existing one.

The “School Student Package” is a one-time payment aimed at covering the basic costs of school supplies. However, as experts note, this amount may not be enough to cover the costs of shoes and clothing. The authorities emphasize that this initiative is considered not only as financial assistance, but also as a way to reduce the financial burden on parents at the beginning of the school year.

It is also worth mentioning that the possibility of raising the retirement age has recently been discussed, which raises concerns among many Ukrainians about their ability to live to receive benefits. In the context of energy crises, schoolchildren will acquire new knowledge and skills to adapt to the changing reality.
