A boy in Volyn injured his 2-year-old sister while driving a car, leaving her at home unattended
On August 4, a tragic event occurred in the village of Nemyr in Volyn. An 11-year-old boy, left unattended, got behind the wheel of an Audi and tried to drive out of the garage, as a result of which he ran over his two-year-old sister.
The press service of the National Police reported this.
Unfortunately, the girl died on the spot from her injuries. In addition, the boy’s 7-year-old brother was injured and was urgently taken to the hospital to receive the necessary medical care.
Preliminary data indicate that the children were at home without their parents. The boy started the car on his own and tried to drive away, not realizing the possible consequences of his actions.
An investigative group and juvenile prevention specialists worked at the scene. Law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances of the tragedy and the methods by which the child was able to gain access to the car.
This situation has caused significant public outcry, highlighting the importance of child supervision, minors’ access to cars, and general safety within families.
