How to get bigger payouts: who will get more money
As part of the celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day, some categories of citizens will receive a one-time financial assistance. The amount of the payment is determined based on several factors.
According to information from the press center of the Main Department of the Pension Fund in the Luhansk region, one of the citizens asked a question about receiving such assistance:
I am a participant in hostilities and receive a pension for years of service. During mobilization, I was injured, and I was assigned the status of a disabled person due to the defense of the Fatherland. Still, I have not yet submitted a document confirming this status to the Pension Fund. What amount of financial assistance will I be credited with in August for Independence Day?
The Pension Fund noted that the procedure for distributing one-time financial assistance for Independence Day was approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 1369 of December 27, 2023. Paragraph 4 of this document indicates that to receive assistance, a person must have the appropriate status no later than August 24 of this year.
Thus, in the case above, the specified person will receive a payment of 1,000 hryvnias as a participant in hostilities. The money will arrive in August together with the pension.
Suppose the citizen can submit a certificate of a person with a disability as a result of the war to the territorial body of the Pension Fund. In that case, he will be entitled to payment of the difference between the previously received 1,000 hryvnias and the amount of cash assistance for persons with disabilities, which will be:
3,100 hryvnias for persons with disabilities of group I;
2,900 hryvnias for persons with disabilities of group II;
2,700 hryvnias for persons with disabilities of group III.
