Politician Mykola Tomenko characterized this situation as the “Verkhovna Rada of NAVPAKA”, noting an almost complete change in the position of the deputies. Rapid change of course: from weakening to strengthening the NABU in 9 days
A new political scandal has unfolded in Ukraine. As Tomenko notes, the deputies changed their views with fantastic speed. “Not even 10 days have passed, when the same deputies who on July 22 supported the president’s initiative to weaken the powers of the NABU and the SAPO now support his bill to strengthen them,” he notes, pointing to this striking metamorphosis.
Recall that on July 22, 2025, a law was passed that granted the Prosecutor General’s Office excessive powers and reduced the powers of the NABU and the SAPO. The following political forces supported it:
