The CCC will consider the reasons for granting a postponement from mobilization: who may lose “armor”
Territorial recruitment centers have initiated a process to verify the reasons for extending military deferments in light of the new presidential decree on mobilization. This procedure can take up to five working days.
Ukraine is undergoing a general mobilization, which was announced at the beginning of full-scale hostilities, and martial law is also in effect. One of the citizens seeking a deferment consulted lawyers regarding the terms and features of document checks for temporary exemption from conscription.
Lawyer Yuriy Ayvazyan explained that the verification of the grounds for a deferment is carried out within five days. Among the main reasons that may lead to such a check, the lawyer named four key ones:
- Submission of an application for a deferment by military conscripts during a special period;
- Issuance of a presidential decree on extending the terms of mobilization;
- Receiving a request from state bodies or local governments;
- Official notification of the person’s loss of the right to an existing deferral.
The human rights activist added that if the person has previously received a deferral, then with each new extension of the terms, the authorities are obliged to check whether the grounds remain relevant. If they are valid, the deferral should be automatically extended.
