Mayor Bershadi did not declare a house and a car worth millions

Bershad Mayor Vitaliy Dragan, a member of the “Ukrainian Strategy of Groysman” party, was notified of suspicion under Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which concerns failure to declare property.

The investigation revealed that in 2023, the official occupied a house with an area of 180 sq. m., costing over 2.3 million UAH, and owned a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 (2020) valued at 1.5 million UAH, all of which were not disclosed in his declaration.

The mayor’s common-law wife, with whom he lives, owns an apartment and 12 land plots, while the spouses have another plot in common. Vitaliy Dragan owns two land plots, rents another, and owns a non-residential store building with an area of 108.6 sq. m. Together with his wife, they own a residential building with a built-in shop.

The family uses three cars: a Toyota HiAce (2007), which belongs to the mayor, as well as a Volkswagen Golf (2004) and the aforementioned Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150, which is registered to his wife.

During 2024, Vitaliy Dragan received a salary of UAH 841,000, UAH 20,000 from rental activities, and UAH 15,000 from the sale of movable property. His common-law wife earned UAH 1.4 million from entrepreneurial activities, UAH 23,000 from rental activities, and UAH 10,000 from the sale of movable property. Both properties were rented to the same company.

Among the monetary assets, the official declared UAH 1.7 million and $ 35,000, and his civil partner – UAH 1.05 million.
