In Transcarpathia, border guards stopped illegal crossing of the border with the EU by using weapons

In the Velykoberezny district, near the Ukrainian-Slovak border, border guards discovered a group of suspicious individuals at night. Residents notified law enforcement officers about the strangers, which aroused suspicion, which was reported to the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service.

As it became known, the situation was recorded using technical surveillance equipment. As soon as the violators noticed the border guards, they tried to escape towards the mountains. To stop the escapees, the military fired several warning shots into the air and involved a service dog.

Later, it turned out that the detainees were residents aged 37 to 48, who intended to illegally leave for the countries of the European Union in search of a better life.

The men were taken to the border guard unit, where administrative protocols were drawn up against them for attempting to illegally cross the state border and failing to comply with the requirements of the border guards.

During the full-scale war, more than three million people left Ukraine, and most of them have still not returned.
