Betrayal or opportunity for peace: an expert explains how to perceive the meeting between Trump and Putin in Alaska

In the program “Personality with Sergey Doyko”, one of the experts discussed the situation surrounding the negotiations in Alaska, arguing that the problem lies in uncertainty – neither side knows what to expect. This is especially true for Ukraine, which is planned to be excluded from the negotiation process. Although the US is trying to involve it in the next round, Russia has completely different plans.

The expert noted that the Russian narrative line is to show that considerable powers solve global issues without the participation of smaller countries. The meetings in Alaska, taking place far from Europe, symbolize this idea that Russia is trying to impose.

He also pointed to the emotional reaction of society on social networks to this situation. The comments that appear are primarily emotional and not always based on analysis, since there is very little information about the meeting in Alaska. Some users talk about betrayal, others express hope that Trump will succeed, and a third group believes that the situation is critical.

The expert emphasized that the emotional aspect of this process is understandable because the Russian-Ukrainian war evokes strong feelings. However, so far, there is a lack of reliable data in this matter, and the number of variables is too large.
